Our website is moved to the new address www.nepcon.org as of 1 June 2016. This move is necessary to ensure that we align our domain name with the type of organisation that NEPCon is today: a not-for-profit organisation.
The new domain www.nepcon.org will be the destination for NEPCon’s official web content and news. This change is a strong signal of our status as a mission-driven organisation.
We want to enable our users to maintain their direct links to various sections of the NEPCon website; and the old domain therefore will not be shut down immediately after 1 June 2016.
To facilitate the change to www.nepcon.org, the website will be maintained over the coming months with both old and new URL addresses. This means the web content in the old site www.nepcon.net will be identical to and up-to-date with that on the official www.nepcon.org.
This ample transition period will help our users to re-establish the new link with www.nepcon.org, which involves the simple step of replacing the “.net” by “.org” in any URLs − and possibly informing other NEPCon website users whom they know. As the NEPCon website includes thousands of URLs, with users from over ten different languages, it will take some time for the change to the new address to be complete.
Another outcome of the new domain change is that our email addresses are changing from 1 June − from name@nepcon.net to name@nepcon.org. You may want to update your email records accordingly and add our new addresses to your safe lists. As with our website content, we will maintain the email suffix such that any messages sent to old NEPCon email addresses will still get through to the recipient.
In the meantime, should you have any questions regarding the domain change, please feel free to contact us at info@nepcon.org
In connection with this domain change, we will be launching the new NEPCon newsletter later in the month. This new e-newsletter will replace the Certified Wood Update with the aim to cover more diverse sustainability topics and present a fuller scope of NEPCon work.
For years, the Certified Wood Update, co-published by NEPCon and the Rainforest Alliance has covered mainly editorial from the front lines of responsible timber trade and other developments on certification systems, forest carbon and footprint. The revised newsletter will allow us to bring you more news on other topics such as responsible sourcing, biomass.
This new newsletter will not only continue to keep you up to speed on major industry news and latest trends, events, useful resources, but also feature a range of our inspiring non-profit activities in various parts of the world. We hope this newsletter will become a valuable addition to your inbox. The newsletter is free and you can sign up here to receive future issues.
