On 19-23 November 2012, a new auditor training course will take place that combines FSC forest management certification with forest carbon.
Register before this Friday to join this five-day intensive training which has been made possible through a unique collaboration between NEPCon, consultancy ETIFOR, university consortiums FONASO and SUTROFOR, and certification body TÜV SÜD.
‘Forest Management Auditor of Tomorrow: how to integrate FSC forest management and carbon auditing’ will equip you with the tools, knowledge and skills needed by auditors and others working within certification. You will gain comprehensive insights into the inner workings of the FSC system as well as forest carbon certification schemes.
“We are bringing our extensive experience in FSC certification to the forest carbon field so that those engaging in responsible forestry can also benefit from environmental services”, says Mateo Cariño Fraisse, FSC Lead Auditor and Forest and Climate Services Coordinator at NEPCon. Mr Cariño Fraisse is one of five trainers at the Italy event.
Forest management certification is fast evolving and auditors are increasingly required to hold expertise in multiple areas. This training is an excellent opportunity to build your expertise in this increasingly important topic.
The training has been developed to benefit prospective auditors as well as a wide range of stakeholders, including land-use planners, responsible purchasers, investors and advocacy groups.
Experienced auditors and lecturers will guide participants to a deeper understanding of the standards, systems and auditing techniques. Through hands-on experience based on realistic scenarios, participants will learn the specific skills and competences required for high-quality auditing.
